All About Me

Hello,

My name is Lydia Schwemmer. I was born in Fredrick, Maryland. I lived there till I was 4 and then I moved to Kaysville, Utah. I have lived in Kaysville for 10 years. I have 6 siblings , 3 Sister in laws, and 2 nieces. I have 4 older siblings ( 3 brothers, 1 sister) and one younger brother. That makes me the second youngest in the family. My oldest brother is married and has 2 daughters, my sister is engaged, and my other two older brothers are both married. I am in 9th grade and am currently attending Centennial Jr. High School. And my little brother is in 6th grade and attending Snow Horse Elementary

I have a lot of favorite things. Some of my favorite things to-do are : play volleyball, bake, spend time with family and friends, take my dogs to the park, hike, and travel. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite food is Fettuccine Alfredo.

I love to travel! Traveling is one of my favorite things. I have been all over the world , but I think my favorite trips were my trip to southeast Asia, and my trip to Europe. I went to southeast Asia in may,2019. I went to Singapore, different areas of Malaysia, and the Perhentian islands. This trip was incredible! I got to taste lots of different foods and experience lots of different culture. Singapore was one of my favorites. Singapore is VERY clean. Even though its a big city it is very clean , there is not a single piece of trash anywhere. In fact, in Singapore its a law that you can’t chew gum. Malaysia is a totally different country. Malaysia is a very poor country with lots of forests and wildlife. While I was in Malaysia I had the opportunity to meet lots of friendly locals, see lots of wildlife ( Orangutans, Elephants, Gorillas , etc) and try lots of interesting foods. The Perhentian islands was my favorite part of the trip. Their are two islands a big one and a small one. I stayed on the small island. The water is very blue and clear. It is the clearest water I have ever seen. In the Perhentian Islands I snorkeled every day at different spots. Some of the cool things I saw was sharks, turtles, sword fish, sting ray, clown fish and lots of beautiful coral. My 2nd favorite trip was my trip to Europe. I went to Europe 2 years ago and went to the following places: Greece, Small island off Greece called Santorini, Hungary , and Austria. All of these places were all different and unique in their own way. In Greece I got to experience some of their ancient history. I went to a place called the Acropolis which was a couple temples that they had for Greek gods. It was very cool to see. In santorini i got to meet locals and experience the small village life on the island. In Hungary and Austria I got to go to lots of old Castles and Churches.

I actually really enjoy school. When I go to school and accomplish things i feel great. Their are some subjects that I really love and other that I hate. My favorite subject is English because reading and writing has always come easy to me. My least favorite subject is math because I have a harder time focusing and understand things in math. I like coming to school and seeing all my friends. I love our A day/ B day schedule because days aren’t as hectic and long. And its nice to have a break from classes I don’t like.

Some of my hobbies are volleyball ,running, and baking. I love to play volleyball. I have been playing for 4 years. The first year I started I made a club team but I was horrible. Then I tried out for the jr. high team my 7th grade year and made it. From there on I kept progressing and getting better every day. After my 7th grade year I made a better club team and did really well and improved a ton! Then I made varsity my 8th grade year and did pretty well. Then I made a good club team. Then this year I’m on varsity again. I just had my club tryouts and made the best team at my club which is one of the best teams in the state. I have never really done like track. But I love to do 5ks and go for morning runs. Another one of my hobbies is baking. I like to bake all sorts of things from cookies to cakes.
